Special Track on
Next Generation Broadband Networks
Broadband services play a crucial role for social and economic development,
especially for developing countries. Access to voice and multimedia
applications are becoming a standard demand for everyday activities.
However, several technical challenges (e.g., high-bandwidth, broadband
wireless and mobile connectivity, last-mile access, security and privacy,
etc.) as well as economical constraints (end-user computing equipment cost,
bandwidth cost, etc.) have precluded the penetration of broadband
technologies to many services, such as healthcare, governmental subsidies,
electronic and mobile commerce, etc.
Dealing with the multifaceted challenges brought by the broadband
connectivity for various service sectors requires a collaborative research
and development efforts between industry, academia, and regulators.
This track brings together practitioners, researchers, and regulators to
share innovative solutions and ideas to deal with the challenges that face
the development and deployment of broadband systems and networks. The scope
of the track covers a wide-spectrum of technical and economical challenges
related to networking, communication, and security pertained for the
deployment of both wired and mobile broadband technologies.
Original papers are invited on recent advances in broadband networks and
systems and information security. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, the following:
- Ad hoc mobile networks
- Broadband access technologies
- Capacity planning
- Cellular & broadband wireless nets
- Cross layer design and optimization
- Middleware support for networking
- Multimedia protocols and networking
- Network architectures
- Network management
- Network simulation and emulation
- Novel network architectures

- Resource allocation & management
- Routing protocols
- Scheduling & buffer management
- Security, trust, & privacy
- Self-organizing networks
- Sensor nets & embedded systems

- Wireless mesh networks and protocols
*Paper Submission:*
Authors are invited to submit original papers in any of the topics covered
by the INFOS2010 tracks. Papers must be submitted to *only one track*. All
papers will be blindly peer reviewed by two reviewers from the international
program committee of the selected track. Acceptance will be based primarily
on originality, relevance, and contribution. Submission should be in
English, single column, double spaced, in font size 12, as "doc" or "pdf"
file. Since blind review will be applied, papers should be submitted *without
authors' names and affiliation*. Camera ready submissions should be in IEEE
format, and should not exceed 10 pages (including figures and references).
Accepted papers will be published in the conference electronic proceedings.
At least one author of an accepted paper must register and present the paper
in the conference. The papers should be original and not published
elsewhere. *All accepted papers will be archived in IEEExplore database.
