CFP: Second International Workshop on Planning and Optimization of Wireless Communication Networks (PlanNet2010)

In conjunction with the IEEE Wireless Communications & Networking Conference (WCNC) 2010, 18-21 April, Sydney, Australia

=== Paper submission deadline extended to Dec. 15 ===

Aim of the Workshop

The aim of the workshop is to bring together both the mobile communications industry (operators, telecom vendors, radio network planning and optimization consulting firms and tool producers) and academia to present and discuss the problems, challenges, directions, and state-of-art in the fields of future wireless communication networks deployment, planning and optimization. The workshop will try to build a bridge between the mobile communications industry and academic research so that future collaborations between two sectors can be identified. The goal of future wireless networks is to provide ubiquitous connections and support high data rate demand. The WiMAX, LTE, and LTE-Advanced standardizations have already processed toward this direction but still require significant improvements. Network planning and optimization faces many challenges arising from the use of new air interfaces and new technologies (e.g., MIMO, smart antennas, cooperative relay), the mix of voice, video and data traffic, the co-existence of different RATs (Radio Access Technologies), the growing importance of indoor coverage and the paradigm shifts (e.g., femtocells). The future wireless networks cannot operate efficiently, unless these challenges are properly addressed.

In this workshop, the advances of wireless communications that enable future wireless networks and challenges in network planning and optimization arising from the adoption of new technologies will be discussed. PlanNet seeks papers dealing with architectural issues, theoretical studies, new paradigms, enabling technologies, practical implementations, and policy issues for future wireless communications and network planning and optimization problems. Besides the technical insights, the workshop will provide a supportive environment for technical discussions between like-minded researchers and engineers.

[Tccc] CfP CoSDEO 2010 -- Deadline extended to December 15th

(Please accept our apologies if you receive multiple copies of this CfP)
===================================================================

1st Workshop on Context-Systems Design, Evaluation and Optimisation
(CoSDEO 2010)

in conjunction with
the 23rd International Conference on
Architecture of Computing Systems (ARCS 2010)
(See: http://www.sra.uni-hannover.de/arcs2010/index.php)
Hannover, Germany, February 22nd to 25th

===================================================================

The CoSDEO-workshop has the goal to bring together reserachers in the areas of
context computing that focus on system design, system evaluation, system
optimisation and testing.

We are looking for original contributions on theoretical aspects as well as
implementations and experiments regarding systems and system design in the
field of context computing.
In this context, practical implementations which require theoretical
investigations shall be discussed.

The workshop focuses on context and systems for context computing.
Regarding the context part, an important aspect is the impact and processing
scheme for uncertain contexts and quality of context, as well as the
appropriate modelling of context and situations.
Regarding the systems part, we appreciate resilient and comparable
experimantal studies.

Topics of Interest include, but are not restricted to:
- Design aspects of context aware systems
- Experimental work and field studies on context aware systems
- Architectures and building blocks for context computing systems
- Surveys about architectures and systems for context aware computing
- Surveys about architectures and systems for pro-active context computing and
context prediction
- Optimisation and evaluation of models for context computing
- Systems providing and using quality of context
- Systems providing and using uncertain contexts
- Context reasoning
- Systems to ensure privacy and security in context processing

The workshop will comprise invited papers on current topics of leading experts
in the field as well as submitted papers.
Page limit for accepted papers is 10 pages (formatted according to Springer
LNCS style: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.htmlA4) and will be
