[Tccc] postdoc position at NTU Singapore (distributed storage systems)

Kindly help disseminate among your students/colleagues.

A post-doctoral position (for a period of 12-18 months) is available at the School of Computer Engineering in NTU Singapore. The candidate should have strong background in distributed systems and security. The project for which the candidate is being sought is related to fine-grained access control in peer-to-peer storage systems, and with applications to decentralized online social networks.

The position is with the SANDS research group at NTU:
group webpage http://sands.sce.ntu.edu.sg/
and PI's web-page http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/home/anwitaman/.

NTU Singapore in general, and also SANDS research group has a very international/cosmopolitan environment, and has strong international collaborations with academia (particularly in Europe) as well as industry. Singapore prides itself to be on the silk-way of Asia's knowledge economy, and is also well situated and connected. The quality of living is very high, while the cost of living compared to developed countries is relatively low, and a very competitive (and somewhat negotiable) compensation package is offered.

The candidate should be available to join latest by August 2010. The candidate should have
defended his Phd before August 2010.

To apply, please email your CV to anwitaman@ntu.edu.sg

ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the premier
conference covering all aspects of network protocols, including design,
analysis, specification, verification, implementation, and performance. ICNP
2010, the 18th ICNP, will be held in Kyoto, Japan, on October 5-8, 2010.
Papers with significant research contributions to the field of network
protocols are solicited for submission. Papers cannot be previously
published nor under review by another conference or journal. Papers
containing plagiarized material will be subject to the IEEE plagiarism
policy and will be rejected without review. Topics of interest include, but
are not limited to:

- Protocol design, implementation, testing, and analysis
- Measurement of protocol performance
- Protocols for specific functions, such as routing, congestion control,
security, survivability, and network management
- Protocols for wireless, mobile, sensor, and mesh networks
- Protocols for cloud computing, peer-to-peer systems, and emerging
distributed systems

Papers must deal specifically with protocols. Papers on general networking
where protocols are only a secondary focus will be considered only if they
are of exceptional quality. ICNP will select an accepted full paper for the
best paper award.

*ICNP 2010 will use a double-blind review process. The identity of authors
and referees will not be revealed to each other. To ensure blind reviewing,
author names and affiliations should not appear in the paper; bibliographic
references should be made in such a way as to preserve author
anonymity.*Papers should adhere to the IEEE Computer Society format

[Tccc] SecureComm 2010 - Deadline extension to April 19, 2010

[Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message]

CALL FOR PAPERS

*********************************************************************
6th International Conference on Security and
Privacy in Communication Networks (SecureComm '10)
September 7-10, 2010, Singapore
http://www.securecomm.org/
*********************************************************************

SecureComm'10 seeks high-quality research contributions in the form
of well developed papers. Topics of interest encompass research
advances in ALL areas of secure communications and networking.
Topics in other areas (e.g., formal methods, database security,
secure software, applied cryptography) will also be considered if
a clear connection to private or secure communications/networking
is demonstrated.

The aim of SecureComm is to bring together security and privacy
experts in academia, industry and government as well as
practitioners, standards developers and policy makers, in order to
engage in a discussion about common goals and explore important
research directions in the field. SecureComm also serves as a venue
for learning about state-of-the-art in security and privacy research,
giving attendees the opportunity to network with experts in the field.

Selected papers will be published at a special issue of IJIS
(International Journal of Information Security, Springer).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
All submissions will be blind reviewed. The paper must be anonymous,
with no author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or obvious
references. It should begin with a title, a short abstract, and a
list of keywords. Submissions must not substantially duplicate work
that was published elsewhere, or work that any of the authors has
submitted in parallel to any other conference or workshop
that has proceedings.

SecureComm'10 proceedings will be published in Springer's LNICST
(http://www.springer.com/computer?SGWID=0-146-6-564009-0). The final
proceedings version will be a paper of at most 18 pages in the
llncs style, which corresponds to around 7000 words of text.
The document submitted (excluding appendices) should correspond to
what the authors expect to be published if their paper is accepted
without modification. We therefore strongly recommend that authors
check whether their paper (without appendices) will fit within the
above llncs space constraints. Committee members are not required to
review more than that, so the paper should be intelligible and
self-contained within this length. Submissions not meeting these
guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits.

Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their paper will be
presented at the conference.

WORKSHOPS
Proposals for one-day workshops to be held in conjunction with the
conference are solicited. A maximum of 2 page proposal should be
submitted, including the workshop name, its scope and a list of topic
of interests. Proposals should be submitted to Workshop Chair by
April 5, 2010. (Check the info at
http://manual.icst.org/index.php?page=workshop-chair.)

TUTORIALS/DEMOS
Proposals for tutorials as well as demos are solicited.
Please contact General Chair by May 31, 2009. (Check the info at
