Special Issue on Human Centric Communications

International Journal on Semantic Computing

Call for Papers

Scope:

Today, digital networks have become powerful tools for human to
communicate with each other or to search and access the vast amount of
information. However, the capability for human users to navigate through
disparate sources for information and control obscure devices for
required applications is still limited. Offering intuitive and flexible
communication with state and context dependent support is one important
aspect that is lacking in today's world of digital communications. When
the communications system capability is tightly coupled with the person,
location, time, situation, and social and cultural context of a specific
application and the communication operation, its application value can
be expected to grow dramatically. These suggest the need of scientific
and engineering methodologies for designing, constructing, and analyzing
complex digital communication tools and systems that center around the
fundamental, flexible and intuitive forms of human communications.

This journal special issue is dedicated to the theory and practice of
human centric communications. Submissions that introduce key concepts,
fundamental theoretical frameworks, different technical approaches, real
life systems and examples, and open issues in all human centric
communications related topics are solicited and strongly encouraged.

We welcome submissions on all aspects of these themes, which include the
following topics

(but are not limited to):

* Split MAC

* Medical Sensor Networks

* Middleware for Human centric communications (HCC)

* Reliability and Quality of Service(QoS) in HCC

* Privacy and Security in HCC

* Heterogeneity and Interoperability issues in HCC

* Context-aware computing in HCC

* Self-aware and Self-configure Human Centric Networks

* Pervasive human-centric computing

* Social, ethical, educational and economical issues in HCC
