Special Session: Search and Beyond Search - Online Multimedia Applications

of MMSP (2008 IEEE International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing)

The core technologies for different online multimedia applications are closely related. "Multimodal Relevance" is one of the key technologies that many applications involve. This special session will include papers addressing existing and potential issues, scenarios, research topics of online video, image and audio related applications, including but not limited to

1. Video/image search and re-ranking
2. Social media and media sharing
3. Multimedia recommendation
4. Multimedia advertising
5. Online multimedia annotation/categorization/tagging
6. Online multimedia presentation, browsing and management
7. Online multimedia authoring
8. Other multimedia related technologies and applications on the Internet

Paper Submission: May 2, 2008
Acceptance Notification: June 18, 2008

Notes:

* Please send the potential title and author list to the organizers (tmei@microsoft.com and/or xshua@microsoft.com) by April 18 if you are interested in this special session.
* The Special Session (SS) papers will be submitted to the same submission portal by choosing relevant Special Session as the Main Topic. The deadline of the SS submission is 2 May 2008. However, the potential authors MUST register their interests by lodging a PDF format file of paper abstract into the system before or on the regular paper submission deadline to GET a paper submission ID. This is because that the on-line submission will be closed after the regular paper submission deadline, which, currently, is 18 April, 2008. For final SS paper submission, authors MUST send the final copy with submission ID to the SS organizer. Please note that any submitted SS paper with no ID will not be accepted by MMSP08!
