Multimedia in Ubiquitous Computing and Security Services (MUCASS 2008) (http://www.sersc.org/MUCASS2008) is focused on the challenges and solutions for ubiquitous computing (UC) with emphasis on forthcoming multimedia applications and security services. The session is intended to encourage cooperation among academicians and researchers in secure ubiquitous multimedia systems (UMS), and push the theoretical and practical research forward for a deeper understanding in ubiquitous multimedia computing (UMC) and security services.
Topics (include but are not limited to the following)
-Novel adaptive/context-aware/ubiquitous/wireless multimedia applications and systems
-Multimedia content distribution/service system in UC
-Real-time and interactive multimedia applications for UC
-Wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks/ RFID application for UMC
-Ubiquitous multimedia streaming with mobility, QoS, and multicast support
-Mobile multimedia applications & services
-Human-computer interaction in UMC
-Theoretical aspects and algorithms for multimedia in UC
-Emerging standards and technologies for UMC
-Business model and protocols for UMS
-Cooperative networks and applications for UMS
-Security, privacy, and cryptographic protocols for UMC
-Network security issues and protocols in UMC
-Key management and authentication UMS
-Authentication and access control in UMS
-Intrusion detection and prevention in UMS
-Content protection and digital rights management for UMS
-Trusted computing in UMS
-Information hiding and watermarking in UMS
Important dates
Full Paper Due: June 20, 2008
Notification of Acceptance: July 1, 2008
Final Camera-Ready Due: July 15, 2008
Special Session Date: October 14 – 16, 2008
Paper Submission and Publication
Every submitted paper will be carefully reviewed by at least two PC members. Authors should submit paper with about 4 pages (short paper), 6 pages (regular paper) or 8 pages (full paper: 2 pages extra charge) by using Online Systems for review. Please use IEEE CS paper format.
All accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings published by IEEE CS (indexed by EI). Outstanding papers accepted and presented in MUCASS 2008, after further revisions, will be published in Special Issues of International Journals indexed by SCI-E (confirmed)
