Wireless Grids Workshop @ GridNets 2008
Beijing, China, 8 October 2008
Sponsored by ICST, co-sponsored by Create-Net
Important Dates:
Papers submission: 13 August 2008
Acceptance notification: 21 August 2008
Camera ready version: 29 August 2008
Workshop: 8 October 2008
Scope of the Workshop
The scope of the workshop is to bring together a highly qualified group of people with interest in wireless grids formed by mobile devices such as mobile phones and wireless sensors. Grid networks are well studied over the last decades. Their potential in sharing resources over long distances, make those networks more powerful, more robust, and less cost intensive. In this workshop wireless girds are the main focus. The cross over of grid technology in the wireless domain seems promising. Even though mobile devices are connected over error prone and energy consuming links, the power of grid technology is entering mobile phones, wireless sensors and others. The workshop should help to share the knowledge in this young research area.
Topics of interest are (but not limited to):
- Architectures of Wireless Grids
- Protocol Design for Wireless Girds
- Physical and MAC Layer Issues
- Peer-to-Peer Technologies for Community Wireless Networks (CWNs)
- Cross-layer optimization in Wireless Grids
- Security in Wireless Grids
- Mobile Applications for Wireless Grids
- Network Coding
- Game Theory for CWNs
- Practical implementations, test-beds and demonstrations.
The conference proceedings will be included in the Lecture Notes of ICST
(LNICST), which will be published by Springer. Papers published in LNICST
will be considered by the main indexes of the global academic/scientific community and authors will also be able to purchase hard copies of the proceedings. In addition, the proceedings will be included in Springerlink as well.
