Hot News!
Distinguished papers accepted and presented in IMIS 2009, after
further revisions, will be invited for a Special Issue of Journal of
Intelligent Manufacturing (SCIE-indexed).

== Overview ==
With the proliferation of wireless technologies and electronic
devices, there is a fast growing interest in Ubiquitous and
Pervasive Computing (UPC). UPC enables to create a human-oriented
computing environment where computer chips are embedded in
everyday objects and interact with physical world. Through UPC, people
can get online even while moving around, thus having
almost permanent access to their preferred services. With a great
potential to revolutionize our lives, UPC also poses new
research challenges. This workshop will focus on the challenges and
solutions for UPC with an emphasis on intelligent, mobile
and internet services. The workshop will provide an opportunity for
academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest
issues and progress in the area of UPC. The workshop will publish high
quality papers, which are closely related to the
various theories and practical applications in UPC. In addition, we
expect that the workshop and its publications will be a
trigger for further related research and technology improvements in
this important subject

*** Author Instruction
Authors are invited to submit original papers: they must not
substantially duplicate work that any of the authors have published
elsewhere or have submitted in parallel to any other conferences that
have proceedings. The submission of contributions to IMIS 2009 occurs
through the IMIS 2009 submission website.

You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author
Guidelines at the following web page:
http://www.ieee.org/portal/pages/pubs/transactions/stylesheets.html

Submissions must not exceed more than 8 pages, including tables and
figures, with only PDF. Submission of a paper implies that should the
paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and
