The 3rd International Workshop on Next Generation Wireless Networks
(WoNGeN 2008) in conjunction with The 15th annual IEEE International
Conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC 2008), Dec 17-20,
Bangalore, India. The main theme of WoNGeN 2008 is Next Generation
Wireless Networks including GENI.

==============DETAILED CFP ====================
The focus theme for WoNGeN 2008 is Next Generation Wireless Networks
including GENI. GENI is an NSF sponsored program that is widely tipped
to become a form of future Internet. However, GENI is still in its early infancy
and there is a critical need for solutions to many problems that GENI
or similar next generation Internet architectures face.
Original and unpublished research contributions are invited from the
areas including but not limited to the following:
* Architectures for next generation wireless networks
* Next Generation Wireless Internet Design
* Quality of Service Provisioning in next generation wireless networks
* Multimedia support for next generation Internet
* Cognitive network architectures for future Internet
* Issues and concerns for GENI architectures
* Revolutionary designs for next generation architectures
* Cross layer architectures for next generation Internet
* Prototypes of next generation Internet architectures
* Performance analysis of next generation wireless networks
* Solutions for multimedia support in next generation wireless networks
* Cognitive network controller design
* Performance evaluation of cognitive networks
Submission Details:
In a deviation from the traditional IEEE/ACM technical papers which are
basically in the form of written document, WoNGeN 2008, for the first time
(to the best of our belief), introduces the concept of multimedia technical
papers. Each paper to be submitted to WoNGeN 2008 can contain an 8-15
minute long video clip that authors want to explain, for example, a crucial
concept beyond the written words, convey the significance of an
equation/formula, or complement the written information by a simple
overall presentation. This extended form of authors communicating with
the readers, using video presentation, is only a complementary method
to clarify complex concepts and therefore, the acceptance decision
will be based entirely on the
written information. Therefore, the multimedia paper format is
optional for the initial submission, however, it is mandatory for the
camera ready version.
Nevertheless, we encourage authors to participate in this experiment.
Papers must be written in English. Authors must include their names and
affiliations on submitted papers, and papers must include a title and an
abstract of no more than 250 words. Papers must be submitted in
Portable Document Format (PDF) format. Paper submission deadline is August
31, 2008, 11:59 PM PDT. Authors must follow Lecture Notes in Computer
Science (LNCS) format for preparing their manuscripts. The page limit is 12
pages for full papers and 8 pages for short papers, including figures,
multimedia clips, tables, and references. Note that 12 pages under
LNCS format are much less than 12 pages under IEEE format, so be mindful
of this when preparing your manuscripts for submission at WoNGeN 2008.
The accepted papers will be published as part of the IEEE HiPC 2008 conference
proceedings on a CD-ROM.
