IM 2009 includes a new kind of technical program, called Dissertation Digest Sessions in Network and Service Management. The sessions are an integral part of the 11th IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM 2009), which will be held from 1 to 5 June 2009 in New York, USA at Columbia University.
The goal of the Dissertation Digest Sessions is to select and award the best Ph.D. work in the area of Network and Service management. Obtaining such award is an important achievement, which will be beneficial for the future academic (Postdoc) career. In addition, the sessions offer a unique opportunity for ex-Ph.D. students to communicate their research to a wide audience, composed by experts and professionals from the industry and academia, in the subject of network and service management.
The award will be given based on the following criteria:

Authors who completed their thesis, including the defense, in 2007 or 2008, are invited to submit:
To be considered for the best PhD thesis award, the author must present the work at IM'09.
The summary / extended abstract will be included in the IM 2009 proceedings, and must be written in English, with at most 6 pages, formatted according to the IEEE double column style. The URL to the thesis, as well as the list of journal and conference papers, must be included in the reference section of the summary / abstract. Only PDF submissions will be accepted. The authors will be the ex-student and his/her supervisor(s); evidence of the defense and/or approval of the thesis may be requested by the co-chairs.
