The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE)
announces a forthcoming special section on "Trust, Security and Privacy for
Pervasive Applications" to be published in March 2010 as a special section
of Transactions on Information and Systems. The objective of this special section
is to publish recent progress focusing on the trust, security, privacy, and related
issues such as technical, social and cultural implications for pervasive devices,
services, networks, applications and systems.
1. Scope
(1) Trust, Security and Privacy (TSP) metrics and architectures for pervasive computing
(2) Trust and Risk management in pervasive environment
(3) Security and privacy protection in pervasive environment
(4) Security and privacy in mobile and wireless communications for databases
(5) Safety and user experiences in pervasive environment
(6) TSP-aware social and cultural implications in pervasive environment
(7) Cryptographic devices for pervasive computing
(8) Biometric authentication for pervasive devices
(9) Security for embedded software and systems
(10) TSP-aware middleware design for pervasive services
(11) TSP-aware case studies on pervasive applications/systems
(12) Cryptographic technologies, including Key management and authentication,
in pervasive applications/systems
(13) Access control, anonymity, reliability and fault tolerance in pervasive
applications/systems
(14) Audit and accountability in pervasive applications/systems
(15) Miscellaneous issues in pervasive devices, services, applications, and systems
2. Manuscript for Special Section
A manuscript of this special section shall follow the guidelines for the regular
section (the length is recommended within 8 printed pages for a paper, 2 printed pages
for a letter). See "Information for Authors" (http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_iss.html)
for details. A time for re-submission after review notification (60 days for
the regular section) may be shortened.
3. Submission Instructions
This special section will accept only manuscripts by electronic submission.
Prospective authors are requested to follow carefully the submission process
described below.
1. Submit a paper and electronic files (Word/TeX files, figures, authors'
photos and biography) for publishing using the IEICE Web site
https://review.ieice.org/regist_e.aspx. Authors should choose
the [Special-ED] Trust, Security and Privacy for Pervasive Applications as a
"Type of Issue (Section)/Category of Transactions" on the online screen.
Do not choose [Regular-ED].
2. Send "Copyright Transfer and Page Charge Agreement" and "Confirmation Sheet
of Manuscript Registration" by postal mail, FAX or E-mail to the following address
(guest editor of the special section) by 1st July, 2009. We cannot start
the review process without them, even if we receive the manuscript.
4. Submission Deadline 1st July, 2009

7. Remarks
* Please note that if accepted, all authors, including authors of invited papers,
are requested to pay for the page charges covering partial cost of publications.
Authors will receive 50 copies of reprints.
*At least one of the authors must be an IEICE member when the manuscript is submitted
for review. Invited papers are an exception. We recommend that authors unaffiliated
