Introduction

The FCST 2009 derives from the Japan-China Joint Workshop on Frontier of
Computer Science and Technology, which was
held in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, November 2006 (FCST 2006), Wuhan, China,
November 2007 (FCST 2007) and Nagasaki, Japan,
December 2008 (FCST 2008). The purpose of FCST 2009 conference is to
provide an open forum for computer scientists and
researchers to present, discuss and exchange state-of-the-art ideas,
results and experiences in all areas of computer
science and technology.

Scope and Interests

The FCST 2009 conference provides a forum for engineers and scientists
in academia, industry, and government to address
all resulting profound challenges including technical, safety, social,
legal, political, and economic issues, and to
present and discuss their ideas, results, work in progress and
experience on all aspects of computer science and technology.
Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:
Parallel and Distributed Computing
Pervasive, Grid, P2P and Cloud Computing
Embedded Computing and Systems
Database and Data Management
Network and Internet Computing
Computer Vision and Image Processing
Wireless Sensor Networks and Mobile Computing
Reliability, Fault Tolerance and Distributed Transaction Processing
Security and trustworthy Computing
Artificial Intelligence and its Applications

System Software and Software Engineering
Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition
Human-Computer Interaction
Other Emerging Topics

Submission Information

Submissions should include abstract, 5-10 keywords, and the e-mail
address of the corresponding author and be in PDF format.
Each submission must not exceed 8 pages in the IEEE 8.5''x11''

tables and figures. Each submission should be regarded as an undertaking
that, should the submission be accepted, at least
one of the authors must attend the conference to present the work in
order that the accepted paper can be put into digital
library. The final version of an accepted paper will be limited to 8
pages in IEEE proceeding format.

Proceedings and Special Issues

The accepted papers have to be presented orally at the conference and
will be published in proceedings of the FCST 2009
conference by IEEE Computer Society, indexed by EI. The selected best
papers will be published in special issues of journals, including
Journal of Supercomputing,
IEICE Transaction on Information System (pending),
International Journal of Parallel, Emergent and Distributed Systems,
and
Journal of Embedded Computing
