==============================================================
Next Generation Network (NGN) refers to a packet-based network able to provide telecommunication services and able to make use of multiple broadband, Quality of Service (QoS)-enabled transport technologies and where service-related functions are independent from underlying transport-related technologies. Based on network evolutions, the current NGN should require extension of the architectural principles of both vertical (from transport to service/application) and horizontal (one end user to other end user through user to network and network to network interfaces) perspectives. In the vertical aspect, more studies should require in networking capabilities for control and operation of various multimedia services over complicated stacks of different layer technologies. In horizontal aspects, further enhancements of user-centric communication capabilities should take into account the complex user situations including various devices connected to home networks and various access!
technologies which support convergence. These capabilities are necessary to support the ubiquitous networking to provide seamlessly interconnection between humans and objects for Any Services, Any Time, Any Where, Any Devices and Any Networks.
The NGUNS 2009 is a unique event for discussing open issues on original research results in the areas of architecture, implementation, applications and standardization for enhancement of NGN.
Topic of Interest
The topics cover, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Design principles and architecture for beyond NGNs including Future Internet
- Mobility management for seamless services in fixed mobile convergence
- Multi-networking (multihomg, multicast, multiple interfaces, etc)
- Overlay and virtual networking
- P2P and content delivery network including unicst/multicast transport
- Ubiquitous networking and services for beyond NGN
- Internet of things, object to object communications
- Home networking and multimedia services for end user
- Quality of Service in NGN
- Open service platform and IPTV services in NGN
- IMS and Web multimedia system for NGN Web convergence
- Service evolution towards integrated multi-service networks
- Context-awareness and its applications
- Test-bed/prototype implementation and standardization
Submission guideline
All papers will be reviewed and accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, published in IEEE Explore (approved). Papers must be submitted electronically in the EDAS(http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=7831&track=7503). The maximum size of papers should be 5000 words including tables and figures. The cover page must contain an abstract of about 150 words, 3-5 keywords, name and affiliation of author(s) as well as the corresponding author's email and postal address.
