About the Workshop:
Effective and practical network traffic work can significantly contribute to the engineering of network equipments, the analysis and modeling of networks and the deployment of network devices. Both academia and industry are interested in most recent progress of the work on network traffic. Most of existing results are desolate and more recent work on traffic is urgently called for. Also, QoS is a primary focus of network operators, network equipment vendors as the triple-play (Voice, Video and Data) comes to the market. QoS is somehow related to traffic to work effectively and efficiently. Study of communication channels could provide significant insights for the design and research on the network protocols and QoS. In addition, the networking and information security is absolutely challenging, but beneficial to the modern telecommunication.

Worshop Topics:
The workshop solicits original work in various aspects of, but NOT limited to, the following topics:
- Traffic measurements
- Traffic modeling
- Traffic simulation
- Traffic management
- Traffic Engineering
- QoS modeling
- QoS schemes
- QoS deployment
- Communication channel measurements
- Communication channel analysis
- Communication channel modeling and simulation
- Security protocols
- Security algorithms
- Security strategies
in both wireless networks (IEEE 802.11 WLAN, IEEE 802.16 WiMax, Cellular Network (3G, 4G, LTE..), Sensor Networks) and wired networks (Ethernet, Optical networks, ATM networks, ADSL Networks, Cable Networks and others).

Guidelines for Submission:
Submitted papers must represent original material that is not currently under review in any other conference or journal, and as not been previously published. All papers will be reviewed and accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, published in IEEE Explorer. Authors should prepare a PDF file following the IEEE single-spaced, double-column pages using the IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates: www.ieee.org/web/publications/pubservices/confpub/AuthorTools/conferenceTemplates.html. Papers are restricted to a maximum length of six (6) pages, including text, figures, references, and appendices, and must be submitted electronically through the EDAS system ICUMT2009 (http://edas.info/N7863). Authors of selected outstanding papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for consideration of publication in a special issue.
