CONFERENCE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mexican International Conference on Computer Science is one of the most
important scientific actions of the Mexican Society on Computer Science
(SMCC).
It promotes the publication of scientific results of the international
community related to applied and fundamental research on Computer Science.
Today, Computer Science has enlarged its horizons and it is practiced
under multidisciplinary contexts that introduce new challenges to
theoretical
and technical approaches. In this sense, the conference provides
a main scientific track but also workshops and tutorials on emergent
and hybrid topics and technologies.
HONORARY PRESIDENT: Alejandro Buchmann, Freie Universitaet Darmstadt,
Germany

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Research papers
Authors are invited to submit full papers (12 pages, IEEE style)
to this topic according to the conference schedule. All accepted full
papers
will be published in the IEEE conference proceedings and a selection of
papers
will be published in a recognized journal with ISSN registration.
* Industrial, Applications, and Experience Papers
Full papers or extended abstracts must be submitted electronically,
using the conference management tool. In particular, each paper must be
formatted according to the conference's camera-ready format (IEEE style)
and the page length is restricted to at most 12 pages.
PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
TUTORIAL PROPOSALS
The proposals have to be proposed providing two short documents:
1) Tutorial outline (max 2 pages in pdf format).
- Title and abstract
- Proposed duration
- Intended audience and interest of the tutorial
- Prerequisite knowledge: required background the attendees
- Detailed content
2) Lecturer's information (max 2 pages in pdf format).
- Lecturer's name, affiliation, homepage and contact details
- Lecturer's bibliography: main publications related to the tutorial
- Previous tutorials given by the lecturer

WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
ENC 2009 will feature a number of co-located workshops on broad topics
related to emergent topics in Computer Science, and held during the main
conference.

PH.D. WORKSHOP
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ph.D. Workshop is intended to bring together Ph.D. students working
on topics related to ENC. The workshop will offer Ph.D. students the
opportunity
to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their research in a
constructive
and international atmosphere. The workshop will be attended by professors
and researchers that will actively participate and contribute to the
discussions.
The workshop is co-located with ENC09 and will take place immediately
before
the conference.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Papers' submissions at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=enc2009
Papers describing doctoral work should be submitted in PDF (preferred)
or PostScript.
The paper length must not exceed 6 pages (including all parts!).
The paper has to be formatted according to the ENC conference manuscript
preparation
guidelines, except the amount of pages, which is limited to 6 pages for
the Ph.D.
workshop! Workshop and paper language is English. In contrast to regular
conference
papers, submissions should address specifically doctoral work!
Therefore, the following elements are recommended:
- A clear formulation of the research question.
- An identification of the significant problems in the field of research.
- An outline of the current knowledge of the problem domain, as well as
the state of existing solutions.
- A presentation of any preliminary ideas, the proposed approach and
the results achieved so far.
- A sketch of the applied research methodology.
- A description of the Ph.D. project's contribution to the problem
solution.
A discussion of how the suggested solution is different, new, or better
as compared to existing approaches to the problem.
The intention of this workshop is to support and inspire Ph.D. students
during their ongoing research efforts. Therefore, it is necessary that
authors
will have neither achieved their Ph.D. degree nor submitted their thesis
before the Ph.D. workshop (September 21, 2009). To enforce this rule we
require
authors to disclose their expected graduation date and their advisor's name
when submitting. Ph.D. students that have already published significant
parts
of their work at some other major conference are asked to step back and
offer
other Ph.D. students the opportunity to discuss their research topics.
Please note, that similar to a Ph.D. thesis, only a single author is
allowed
per submission to the ENC Ph.D. workshop. If several Ph.D. students,
usually
working together as a team, want to submit, every team member has to submit
individually. The Ph.D. advisor is not stated as co-author.
Accepted submissions will be published in the workshop proceedings.
Participants should register for the ENC conference itself at student rate.

VENUE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
French poet André Breton famously called Mexico the surrealist country
par excellence, and Mexico City, the capital seems to revel in its
strangeness. The world's third largest urban area (by some estimates)
fills a highland basin 2240m above sea level, so you might already feel
a bit light-headed upon arrival. The city impresses visitors as a
wonderfully weird and welcoming world, and captivates them with its
year-round springlike climate, bubbling street life and abundant
cultural offerings. ENC 2009 will profit from the cultural opportunities
offered by Mexico City (http://www.mexicocity.com.mx/indexen.html) and
will combine science with an interesting cultural program. Here some
