CALL FOR PAPERS

Over the last fifty years, computational intelligence has evolved from
logic-based artificial intelligence, nature-inspired soft computing,
social-oriented agent technology to cyber-physical integrated ubiquitous
intelligence towards Pervasive Intelligence (PI). The International
Conference on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing is intended to cover
all kinds of these intelligent paradigms as well as their applications
in various pervasive computing. PICom-09 is the next event, in a series
of highly successful International Conferences on Pervasive Intelligence
and Computing (PICom), previously held as PCC-03 (Las Vegas, USA, June
2003), PCC-04 (Las Vegas, USA, June 2004), PSC-05 (Las Vegas, USA, June
2005), PCAC-06 (Vienna, Austria, April 2006), PCAC-07 (Niagara Falls,
Canada, May 2007), IPC-07 (Jeju, Korea, December 2007), IPC-08 (Sydney,
Australia, December 2008). Topics are divided into 8 tracks, and include
but are not limited to the following:

T1. Artificial Intelligence & Knowledge Computing
AI models & theories, machine learning, natural language processing,
computer vision, robots, game theory, expert system, knowledge discovery
and management, reasoning, learning rule, distributed AI, tools,
applications, etc.
T2. Nature-inspired Intelligence & Soft Computing
Nature-based models & theories, probabilistic computing, fuzzy
logic, neural networks, genetic algorithm, evolutionary computing,
chaotic system, collected intelligence, swarm computing, information
fusion, biologic computing, tools, applications, etc.
T3. Social Intelligence & Agent-based Computing
Agent models & theories, agent language, agent negotiation &
cooperation, multi/massive agents, Web agents, agent-based systems,
ethic computing, emotional computing, social computing, social networks,
tools, applications, etc.
T4. Ubiquitous Intelligence & Cyber-Physical Computing
Cyber/Web intelligence, physical things' intelligence, smart object,
space & environment, cyber-physical integrated system, activity
recognition, contextual information models & semantics, context-aware
applications, etc.
T5. Embedded Systems & Software
Pervasive computers and devices, wearable computers, RFIDs, sensor
technology, embedded computer architecture, embedded software and
middleware, system-on-chip, system test, power management, middleware,
tools, applications, etc.
T6. Pervasive Networks & Communications
Broadband network, cross-layer protocol, sensor network, wireless
network, ad hoc network, wearable network, PAN, BAN, P2P network,
power-aware communication, communication middleware, intelligent
traffic/spectrum management, etc.
T7. Pervasive Services & Systems
Web service, semantic Web, P2P service, trusted service, service
safety and assurance, resource virtualization, EaaS including SaaS,
IaaS, PaaS, Grid and Cloud, QoS (quality of service), service-oriented
architecture, systems, applications, etc.
T8. Pervasive Multimedia & Applications
Multimedia modeling and semantics, pervasive media database and
management, pervasive media privacy and protection, intelligent
multimedia sensing, processing, coding, indexing, mining, analyses,
interfaces, tools, systems, applications, etc.

WORKSHOP PROPOSAL
In conjunction with the PICom-09, several workshops will be held. Please
submit a workshop proposal including call for papers, organizing
committee, important dates, short bio of the organizers to the PICom-09
workshop chairs (picom09@googlegroups.com) before July 15. Proceedings
of PICom-09 workshops will be published by IEEE CS Press.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS
Prepare your paper with free styles not more than 15 pages in PDF file.
Submit your paper at the PICom-09 submission site:
http://cse.stfx.ca/~picom09/sub/. Each submission should be regarded as
an undertaking that, if the paper be accepted, at least one of the
authors must attend the conference to present the work in order for the
paper to be included in the IEEE Digital Library.
