Call for Papers
The International Workshop on Cloud Computing-2009
http://www.icumt.org/w-35.html
In conjunction with ICUMT-2009
St. Petersburg, Russia
October 12th-14th, 2009
Cloud Computing is defined as a pool of virtualized computer resources.
Based on this virtualization the Cloud Computing paradigm allows workloads
to be deployed and scaled-out quickly through the rapid provisioning of
virtual machines. A Cloud Computing platform supports redundant,
self-recovering, highly scalable programming models that allow workloads
to recover from many inevitable hardware/software failures and monitoring
resource use in real time for providing physical and virtual servers on
which the applications can run. A Cloud Computing platform is more than a
collection of computer resources because it provides a mechanism to manage
those resources. In a Cloud Computing platform software is migrating from
the desktop into the "clouds" of the Internet, promising users anytime,
anywhere access to their programs and data. What challenges does it
present to users, programmers, and telecommunications providers? This
emerging field will benefit from close interaction between researchers and
industry practitioners so that the research can inform current deployments
and deployment challenges can inform new research directions. To foster
such an experience, The Cloud Computing Workshop will provide a forum for
academics as well as practitioners in the field to share their experience,
leverage from each other's perspectives, and identify new emerging "hot"
trends in this area. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the
following:
• SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
• Automation
• Storage Cloud
• Grid Software
• Elastic Computing
• Cloud Databases
• GRID, Distributed Computing Technologies and Services
• Autonomic and Utility Computing on Global Grids
• Middleware and Toolkits
• Resource Management, Scheduling, and Runtime Environments
• Monitoring, Management and Organization Tools
• Fabric Computing
• Charging Models
• Service Management
• Web-scale Computing
• Power-efficient ("green") computing for clouds
• Cloud Standards
• Cloud Reliability & Security
• Programming models
• New applications on cloud
• Mobile cloud
• Private Cloud Computing
Paper Submission
The authors are encouraged to submit full papers describing original,
previously unpublished, complete research, not currently under review by
another conference or journal, addressing state-of-the-art research in any
of the above areas. We also encourage the submission of position papers.
The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion
is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed
research work and/ or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to
support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims.
All papers will be reviewed and accepted papers will appear in the
conference proceedings, published in IEEE Explore and indexed in relevant
databases. Papers must be submitted electronically in the EDAS. The
maximum size of papers should be 5000 words including tables and figures.
The cover page must contain an abstract of about 150 words, 3-5 keywords,
name and affiliation of author(s) as well as the corresponding author's e-
mail and postal address.
