*Overview:*
*IEEE Science and Engineering Graduate Research Expo* is dedicated to
capturing the imaginations of graduate students of universities and
broader communities; from the industry and academia throughout Victoria,
Australia. This event has multi- and inter-disciplinary focus and it is
hosted by *Melbourne School of Graduate Research (MSGR)*. This free of
charge event is organized by graduate students of the University of
Melbourne. This event has received technical support and
title-sponsorship from *IEEE Melbourne University Student Branch* and it
is generously sponsored by /Melbourne School of Graduate Research
(MSGR)/, /NICTA/, and /Department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering/. Other contributors/supporters include /Sun Microsystems/,
/Grid Computing and Distributed Systems (GRIDS) Laboratory/, and
/Peer-to-Peer Networks and Applications Research Group/. It is expected
that this event will attract 150-200 attendees (both IEEE members and
non-members).
*Call for Proposals:*
Science and Engineering graduate research students of the universities
across Victoria, Australia are invited to submit a *two (2) pages*
proposal within *31 August 2009* detailing their research projects. The
proposal should clearly outline:
* The specific problem and application scenario including the
project requirements
* The overall solution architecture highlighting underlying concepts
and technologies
* The expected outcome and impact of the project as well as specific
deliverables
* A screen-shot of demonstration (software/hardware prototype, Web
portal, conceptual diagram or the like)
The main criteria for selecting a proposal are: novelty, innovation,
research scope, wide applicability, and demonstrability. Up to ten (10)
project proposals will be selected for demonstration during the expo. If
space permits, additional 5-10 projects will be presented in the form of
posters. Top three (3) demonstrations in the event will be awarded with
attractive prizes. Proposals should be submitted via email:
