[Tccc] Two Positions in Networking (post-doc)

We are seeking researchers combining networking and software engineering
to strengthen our research groups especially in systems research and
taking ideas to practice.

The Department of Communications and Networking (Comnet) at Helsinki
University of Technology (TKK) is a young unit with presently 9 chairs
and some 150 researchers covering research across almost all layers both
in theory and practice. For the two positions, the particular emphasis
is on wireless communications and future networking architectures.

We offer two teaching researcher (Finnish term for one type of post-doc)
positions for five year terms, aimed at individuals who

-- conduct self-guided research
-- enjoy open discussions and joint work
-- establish/run a group and guide junior researcher
-- dedicate significant time to excel in teaching (in English)
-- acquire and manage international research projects

The successful candidate has a PhD in Computer Science or Electrical
Engineering and a strong research background in networking technologies
and is knowledgeable in the fields of system design, operating systems,
and software technologies, particularly including systems-level (Unix)
programming in C/C++. The candidate has strong teaching skills, proven
by a track record of taught courses and individual student supervision,
and is interested in developing and applying these further. An active
role in the international research community is expected, -Experience
in the IETF and IRTF or similar activities are appreciated.
