Theme and Scope
The First International Mega-Conference on Future Generation Information
Technology (FGIT 2009) was held on December 10 ~ 12, 2009 in International
Convention Center Jeju, Jeju Island, Korea. FGIT 2009 was the most
comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of advances in
Information Technology. The goal of this conference is to bring together the
researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share
ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of
Information Technology.
FGIT 2009 consist of 11 international events, and these events will cover
whole research areas in Information Technology.. With its low acceptance
rate (below 30%), many high quality papers appear in this conference. To
further spread the influences and impacts, selected high quality papers will
be invited to submit to a special section in the Future Generation Computer
Systems journal. This special section is intended to foster the quick
dissemination of state-of-the-art research, with a special focus on future
information technologies.
All authors, including other prospective authors besides the conference, are
invited to submit through the Elsevier journal paper submission system
(http://ees.elsevier.com/fgcs). Original research articles are solicited in
all aspects of future information technologies. Topics appropriate for this
special section include, but are not limited to:
 Future Cloud, Cluster and Grid computing
 Future innovative information technologies
 Future information and communication technologies
 Future pervasive systems and applications, including eScience and
eBusiness applications
 Creation and management of virtual enterprises and organizations

Instructions for Manuscripts
This special section aims to foster state-of-the-art research in the area of
future information technologies. The submitted papers must be written in
English and describe original research results which are not published nor
currently under review by other journals or conferences. Please submit to
the FGCS special section through the Elsevier journal paper submission
system (http://ees.elsevier.com/fgcs).
