[Tccc] A constructive suggestion

Dear Joe,

I fully understand the frustration of some folks
with the "never ending" disussions on a particular
topic. On the other hand, I also completely
understand the view that we are an open scietific
and engineering society and should welcome
different opinions, including constructive
critisism.

So, here is a suggestion: TCCC should have
discussions sub-groups, so that a discussion on a
topic which extends beyond, say, 5 postings on the
TCCC main list would be transferred to one of the
discussion groups. Whoever wants to continue to
participate in such a discussion, should join the
particular sub-group.

It will be in the discretion of the TCCC
moderator, Joe, to decide to transfer any
particular topic to its own discussion group,
after the initial 5 positings.

Any member of TCCC could subscribe to as any and
as many discussion groups as s/he wants to
and to unsubscribing at any time.

This way, the TCCC will remain clear from
excessive postings, while allowing all of us to
know what topics are being discussed, giving each
one of us an individual choice to participate or
not in any particular discussion.

Does this make sense?

Happy Holiday Season!

Zygmunt.
