[Tccc] CFP: 1st IEEE International Workshop on Emerging Applications for Cloud Computing (CloudApp 2010)

Call for Papers: IEEE CloudApp 2010

The First IEEE International Workshop on Emerging Applications for Cloud
Computing

In conjunction with the 34th Annual IEEE Computer Software and
Applications Conference (COMPSAC 2010)

July 19-23, 2010 - Seoul, South Korea

http://compsac.cs.iastate.edu/workshop_details.php?id=23

SCOPE
-----
Cloud computing is swiftly becoming a very significant computing
paradigm, allowing organizations to implement more computationally smart
and agile environments by improving efficiency and reliability at lower
cost. Many potential uses have been proposed to leverage this powerful
resource, covering many areas of applied computing. CloudApp intends to
bring together cloud computing researchers, experts, developers, and
practitioners from academia, industry, and government, to discuss new and
emerging trends in research and application of cloud computing
technologies for these environments. The workshop seeks to identify the
greatest risks and challenges facing these paradigms, outline approaches
for solving them, and provide the foundation for new cross-discipline
collaborative efforts.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
------------------
We solicit unpublished research papers that address theoretical issues
and practical implementations/experiences related to new technologies
and applications enabled by cloud computing. Topics of interest related
to cloud computing applications include, but are not limited to
the following:

- Cost analysis and revenue models for clouds
- Different cloud service models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
- Data assurance/management in clouds
- Digital forensic challenges and applications
- Digital identity management in private/public/hybrid clouds
- Enterprise applications based on clouds
- Network and storage architectures for clouds
- Programming models and tools for clouds
- Performance monitoring and optimization
- Scalability and complexity in clouds
- Scientific and high performance computing
- Security policy and trust models for clouds
- Service computing
- Virtualization techniques and applications

PAPER SUBMISSION
----------------
Papers must be submitted electronically via the CloudApp 2010
Submission Page. The format of submitted papers should follow the
guidelines for the IEEE conference proceedings. All papers will be
carefully reviewed by at least three reviewers. Papers can be submitted as
regular papers (six pages), and the acceptance will depend on reviewer
feedback. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings
of the COMPSAC 2010 by the IEEE CS Press. At least one of the authors of
each accepted paper must register as a full participant of the workshop to
have the paper published in the proceedings.
