[Tccc] CfP: Special Session on Service-Orientation

=====================================================
36th Euromicro Conference on
Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA)
=====================================================
in Lille, France (September 1-3, 2010)

========================================
Special Session on "Service Orientation"
========================================

Chairs:
-------
Markus Hillenbrand (University of Kaiserslautern)
Bernd Reuther (University of Kaiserslautern)

Call for Papers:
----------------
Service-oriented architectures are an important paradigm for distributed
systems that is changing the way software applications are designed,
implemented, deployed, maintained and consumed. Services are autonomous,
platform-independent elements that can be described, published,
discovered, orchestrated and programmed using standard protocols to
build networks of collaborating applications distributed within and
across organizational boundaries.

Currently Web services are a most promising technology for implementing
service-oriented architectures. Web Services technology and its related
standards provides the basis for the development and execution of
business processes that are distributed over the network and available
via standard interfaces and protocols.

This special session has the goal to point out the overall challenges
and problems of the service-oriented approach, but also show the new
ideas, solutions and best practices in the area of:

● Service-oriented Architectures,
● Web Services Technology,
● Grid Technology, and
● Alternative Technologies for Service-oriented Architectures.

The aim of the session is to bring together researchers and
practitioners from academia and industry to improve the theories,
technologies, and processes in service-oriented software development. We
encourage submissions of both theoretical and experience reports from
academia and industry. Suggested areas of interest include, but are not
restricted to:

● Service and System Security
● Service Description and Modelling
● Service Semantics and Reasoning
● Service Brokering and Mediation
● Service Monitoring and Accounting
● Service Reputation and Evaluation
● Service Dependability and Quality of Service
● Service Development and Testing
● Service Orchestration and Workflows
● Advanced Distributed Applications and Middleware
● Discussion of Fundamental Issues

Submission:

Authors are encouraged to submit a PDF version of their paper via
EasyChair to https://www.easychair.org/login.cgi?conf=seaa2010.

Important Dates:
----------------
Submission of papers: 15 March 2010
Notification of acceptance: 27 April 2010
