Journal of Telecommunications Management

Special Issue:

'Mobility Management and Security Issues for Mobile Wireless Networks'

The Publishers and Editorial Board of Journal of Telecommunications Management
are pleased to announce the a special issue of JTM on Mobility Management and
Security Issues for Mobile Wireless Networks

Scope

With the rapid development of diverse mobile internet applications, and the
continuing increase in the complexity of mobile communications, traditional
mobility management methods and security technologies are unable to meet the
demand for integrated dynamic changing in mobile wireless networks, e.g.,
mobile Ad Hoc networks, mobile P2P networks, and mobile sensor networks. The
unique characteristics of mobile wireless networks pose a large number of
challenging issues, in terms of both mobility management and security, such as
adaptive resource management, mobile data management, mobile data sharing,
mobile data streaming, mobile data consistency, and trust establishment, key
management, privacy and anonymity. Addressing these challenging issues can
alleviate network congestion, provide better secure service, and increase
overall performance. Moreover, with the increasing penetration rate and
expansion of wireless mobile devices using the P2P technologies, a lot of
promising
new applications, such as content sharing among mobile hand hold devices, are
growing bigger and becoming more complicated, and this requires an integrated,
secure and reliable mobile communication environment, which in turn creating a
large number of performance and security issues for both network resource and
data management. So, what are the benefits or inconvenience of mobility in
terms of both network security and management? What are the appropriate
mobility models to have a good level of network security and management? Are
Classical IDS approaches appropriate for mobile environments? How can we build
up trusted platforms and trustworthy systems for mobile networks?

This special issue of Journal of Telecommunications Management aims at
identifying and exploring both mobility management and security issues for
mobile wireless networks, and will be an ideal vehicle for bringing together
researchers, scientists, engineers, academics and students all around the
world to share the latest updates on new mobile technologies that would shape
the next generation of mobile systems and technology platforms.

We are interested in, but are not limited to, the following topics:

1.       Internet of Services, Internet of Things, Smart Spaces

2.       Service overlays, P2P architectures and services

3.       Multimedia services over mobile wireless networks, Internet services
