Postdoctoral Position in Networking at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)
in Qatar.

There is an opening for a postdoctoral fellow to join the Networking
Systems Lab
(NSL) at Carnegie Mellon's Qatar campus, located in Doha, Qatar. The
position will
start in August of 2010 for the duration of two years.
The NSL conducts basic and applied research in several areas of computer
networks
including Delay and Disruption Tolerant networks,
intermittent/opportunistic
networking, mobile/wireless networks, as well as sensor networks. The
NSL is also
involved in networking-based technologies for developing regions.
The holder of this position will ideally help define research problems
and implement
solutions for delay and disruption tolerant networking problems with a
focus on
intermittent and opportunistic networking. Other areas of research that
overlap with
current lab projects such as multi-hop networking resource management and
provisioning, and sensor networking research, may be considered as well.
Duties will
also include assisting in various research management activities such as
writing
proposals, project planning, and report writing.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering by the time of
appointment. They should have a strong research record in one or more of
the areas
mentioned above. Strong systems and programming skills, building
simulators and
using simulation packages such as NS2, Qualnet or OpNet is a must.
