[Tccc] NEW URBAN PROPAGATION AND MOBILITY TOOL FOR VANET AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD.

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce VERGILIUS a research toolbox featuring the CORNER Urban-Propagation model, and the VERGILIUS mobility-scenario builder for Vehicular and Ad Hoc networks.

The CORNER propagation uses real city maps and accounts for city-blocks/BUILDINGS in its computations. The VERGILIUS MOBILITY toolbox is designed to streamline large-scale mobility design in both SUMO and CORSIM.

You are welcome to download VERGILIUS and freely use it at:

please report any bugs you may find at: cvetsoft@nrl.cs.ucla.edu

Thank you

*** ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND PUBLICATIONS ****

CORNER is a lightweight yet accurate URBAN PROPAGATION model for Qualnet 4.5. The CORNER propagation model accounts for city-blocks/buildings in its computations; the NS implementation will be released before the summer.

CORNER has been extensively cross-validated using the UCLA Campus Vehicular Testbed (C-VeT). The street-maps used by corner are provided by the VERGILIUS Mobility toolbox using the tiger-map database.

VERGILIUS Mobility toolbox is a scenario generator for SUMO and CORSIM. VERGILIUS takes as input the US census TIGER map database and creates the configuration and mobility files for CORSIM and SUMO.
The micro-mobility simulator (i.e. SUMO/CORSIM), will output the mobility-traces for many of the leading network simulators.

**** NOTES:
VERGILIUS toolbox is partially supported by the US Army with the Contract # W911NF-08-1-0477 and by NSF under the GENI SPIRAL 2, and Microsoft Research with the PhD fellowship program.

The TIGER MAPS are released by the US CENSUS bureau and are freely available.
The software is released under BSD license and is still in beta-version.
