Elsevier Journal of Network and Com "Advances in Multimedia Services over Emerging Wir Networks"
Scope:
The advances of emerging wireless networks and new multimedia
technologies have inspired more diversified multimedia applications a nd
services. It can be seen that the emerging wireless networks will mak e
possible a new generation of multimedia services and applications. Th e
objective of this special issue is to gather the state-of- and futureoriented
research contributions that focus on the applications, architectures,
and protocols developed for emerging wireless multimedia services. Th is
special issue solicits high-quality theoretical and practical r esearch
on the landscape of recent advances in multimedia services over emerg ing
wireless networks.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
o Emerging standards, technologies and novel paradigms for wire less
multimedia services
o Multimedia delivery over 3G, 4G, ad hoc & sensor networks WLAN, WMAN, and hybrid networks
o Multimedia services over VANET, DTN, wireless P2P network, an cognitive radio networks
o Wireless multimedia services for e-learning, e-co eentertainment, e-health, smart-home, social o Mobile multimedia applications and services
o Real-time multimedia applications and services
o Multimodal services and applications for wireless multimedia networks
o Adaptive, context-aware, location-based wireless multimedia services
o Cross-layer design for wireless multimedia applications o Service discovery : protocols and frameworks
o Resource allocation and QoS provisioning in wireless multimed applications
o Audio-video surveillance and other privacy &
security-related applications
o Case studies, test beds, field trials and evaluation of novel wireless ultimedia services
o Recent trends in emerging wireless multimedia services and
applications
Submission Format:
The submitted papers must be written in English and describe original
research which is not published nor currently under review by other j ournals
