[Tccc] Deadline approaching: IEEE MobiCPS 2010

[Please accept our apologies if you received multiple copies of this call]

CALL FOR PAPERS

MobiCPS 2010 - The 1st IEEE International Workshop on Mobile Cyber-Physical
Systems
http://www.cpschina.org/mobicps

In conjunction with UIC2010
Xi'an, China
26-29 October, 2010

We are currently on the brink of a revolutionary transformation from
stand-alone embedded systems to ubiquitous cyber-physical systems (CPS) that
bridge the virtual world of computing and communications and the real world.
Cyber-physical systems are tight integrations of computation, networking,
and physical objects, in which embedded devices are networked to sense,
monitor and control the physical world. It is believed that CPS will
transform how we interact with the physical world just like the Internet
transformed how we interact with one another. In particular, there is a
trend to build CPS upon wireless and mobile networks as a consequence of
unprecedented proliferation of these technologies in recent years. In
addition to wireless sensors and actuators, the number of mobile devices
that can support wirelessly networked cyber-physical applications has
exploded. Some usual examples include smartphones, PDAs, autonomous robots,
wearable computers, among others. Ubiquitous applications and services
enabled by mobile CPS are opening up great opportunities for improving the
quality of our daily life. To fully explore the potential of mobile CPS,
however, significant challenges are yet to be overcome.

MobiCPS 2010 is an international forum for researchers and practitioners to
present innovative ideas and results on all aspects of mobile cyber-physical
systems, including theoretical foundations, techniques and methods, tools
and platforms, prototypes, and practical applications. Besides research
papers, the workshop will feature Invited Talks and a Panel Discussion
session. The workshop will be held in Xi'an, China in October 2010, in
conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence
and Computing (UIC2010) (http://www.nwpu.edu.cn/uic2010/).

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Theoretical foundations of CPS
- Modeling and analysis of cyber-physical interaction
- Sensing and actuation policies
- Distributed computing and control
- Architectures, design methodologies and tools for mobile CPS
- Mobile devices and embedded software platforms for cyber-physical
computing
- Mobile cyber-physical applications and services
- Energy-efficient (green) computing and communications
- Wireless networking and mobile communications
- Wireless sensor networks
- Mobile and participatory sensing
- Location-based services
- Internet of things
- Information consensus
- Trust, security, and privacy
- Validation, testing, and certification
- Prototypes, testbeds, practical experiences, and case studies
- Emerging applications in healthcare, transportation, automation,
environment, etc.

IMPORTANT DATES
---------------
Paper submissions due: 30 May 2010
Notification of acceptance: 15 July 2010
Camera ready version due: 30 July 2010
Workshop date: TBA

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
-----------------------
Authors are invited to submit original papers that must not have been
submitted to or published in any other workshop, conference, or journal. The
workshop will accept papers describing completed work as well as
work-in-progress (with preliminary results). For detailed submission
instructions, please visit the workshop website:
http://www.cpschina.org/mobicps

All papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the Program Committee and be
evaluated for originality, significance of the contribution, technical
correctness and presentation. At least one author of each accepted papers
must present their work at the workshop. Accepted and presented papers will
be included in the UIC 2010 workshop proceedings published by IEEE Computer
Society Press (placed in IEEE Xplore) and indexed by EI Compendex. Extended
versions of selected best papers will be considered for publication in
special issues of SCI-index international journals (TBA).
