CALL FOR PAPERS

First International Workshop on
Securing the Converged Mobile Internet
SCMI 2010

October 12, 2010
Niagara Falls, Canada
http://scmi2010.kt.agh.edu.pl/

co-located with
6th IEEE International Conference
on Wireless and Mobile Computing,
Networking and Communications WiMob 2010

The Internet, the cellular and the wireless systems are converging now,
thus giving birth to the
Mobile Internet. The Mobile Internet is becoming
technologically-diverse, administratively
fragmented and versatile, thus exhibiting security vulnerabilities in
the system at various levels.
With the growth of service availability, criticality and sensitivity of
the new supernetwork is
increasing,too. There is a need for structural security capability at
the architecture level, at the
system level, at the service level, at the process level, down to the
protocol level in order to
protect operators, users, service providers and content providers in
this complex system of systems.
Security deployment needs to be carefully evaluated to anticipate and
weigh its functionality,
flexibility and performance.

The workshop on 'Securing the converged Mobile Internet' aims to serve
as an international forum for
researchers and practitioners willing to present their early research
results and share experiences
in the field of mobility management and security, centered on the topics
highlighted in the
following list.

* Security objectives and priorities for the Mobile Internet,
* Emerging security architectures,
* Security management in heterogeneous systems and in 4G/LTE,
* Architectures, protocols and methods for mobility management,
* Handoff control and algorithms in the presence of security,
* Mobility and security in mesh networks,
* Mobile multicast and multipath,
* Secure mesh and multihop relay technologies,
* Secure network-aware and context-aware mobility schemes,
* Authentication and access control,
* Key management frameworks,
* Identity management,
* Secure web services,
* Reliability and dependability,
* Security in the mobility enhancing technologies: IEEE 802.21, .11s,
.11u, .16j
* Performance evaluation through security modeling and simulation,

Submission Guideline
--------------------
The authors are encouraged to submit full papers describing original,
cutting-edge work reports from
industry and academia on their recent achievements in 'Securing the
Converged Mobile Internet'. The
submissions, via EDAS at http://edas.info/N8877, must be unpublished
previously and not submitted
elsewhere for evaluation. All papers will be reviewed. Accepted papers
will be included in WiMob
