There is some leeway, which is why, e.g., calls for chapters for commercial
books are currently permitted. However, the "personal, financial, or business
interest" clause currently prohibits calls for papers for organizations that are
not demonstrably non-profit (this is a separate current ComSoc policy, FWIW,
which I've previously investigated). I'll note that the examples provided under
"general good" above are typically also non-profit related, which is where the
note appears to make a distinction.
