Subject: ACM SIGCOMM education activities

Carlos, Artur,

Earlier this year, the ACM SIGCOMM board asked me to coordinate
educational activities within the SIG. We have already set up a website
to share pointers to teaching material ( http://education.sigcomm.org ).
I'm now trying to get feedback from researchers who are starting as
professors who teaching networking in universities about the main
problems that they face in their new teaching carreer. Unfortunately,
there is no directory of young networking professors that I could use to
send this email. I'd appreciate if you could either forward this email
to young professors (say with <3 years of experience) that you know or
send me their contact information so that I can contact them directly.

Thanks for your help

Olivier Bonaventure

SIGCOMM Education survey

1. How long have you been teaching networking courses ?

2. What percentage of your time do you spend on teaching activities ?

3. How many students attend the courses that you teach this year ?

4. Could you describe briefly what are the main challenges that you had
to face to prepare and teach your first networking course ?

5. What could ACM SIGCOMM do to help young networking professors from an
education viewpoint ?

Thanks for your help

Olivier Bonaventure

PS: I'll attend SIGCOMM in New Delhi, feel free to come and discuss with
me if you have other suggestions if you also attend. Feel free to
forward this email to other young networking professors that you know.
