[Tccc] Post-doc position at INRIA in "wireless networking"

A post-doc position is opened in the POPS INRIA Team in Lille/France.

Title:
"Self-deployment algorithms for substitution network"

Scientific context:
In this research project, we aim at studying the deployment of a fleet
of wireless mobile routing devices with controlled mobility
(substitution network) to help increasing the performance of a base
network (static, but can be a wireless or wired network). The
research addresses the theoretical and the practical
parts of this deployment.

Goal:
The candidate will design algorithms/protocols for :
.. the placement of mobile routers (to increase the performance of the
base network),
.. the management of the substitution network (self-* protocols),
.. protocols stack of the substitution network
(multi-interface/channel management protocols, multi-path routing,
...).

Constraints such as connectivity, performances, QoS and energy
consumption have to be considered. Evaluation of the proposed
algorithms/protocols will be performed by theoretical analysis,
simulations and real implementations.

Skills and Profile:
* A Ph.D. in computer science, or a related field is required.
* Solid background in (wireless) networking and/or distributed systems.
* Programming skills are required.
* Excellent analytical and technical skills.
* Knowledge of simulation tools is a plus.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Fluency in English.
