applications for a full-time Research Scientist (Postdoc Fellow) in the
field of Bandwidth Management in Wireless Broadband Networks. The successful
candidate will be working on a new 3 year joint research project between
QUWIC and Queens University in Canada. The expected start date is Sep/Oct
2010.
The project will tackle technical challenges related to the co-existence of
4G and 3G networks, and the seamless interoperability between them.
Job Qualifications:
===================
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer
Engineering by the time of appointment. Key job requirements include:
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently
- Good knowledge in at least two 3G wireless technologies (GSM, UMTS, CDMA,
HSPA, WiMAX)
- General knowledge in LTE and WiMAX
- Expertise in L2/L3 protocols and protocols' design, such as CAC, MAC,
Radio Resource Management, Network Interoperability, etc.
- Expertise in event driven Computer simulations and simulation tools, such
as OPNET or NS3
- Good ability in project planning and executions
- Detailed oriented and good technical and writing skills
- Familiar with the different standard organizations
- Prior industry experience is an asset
