[Tccc] Postdoc position in Internet policy / net neutrality / traffic management at University of California, Irvine

POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR POSITION
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE

The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences has a full-time
position available for a Postdoctoral Scholar.

This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Economics, Public
Policy, or a related area. The position entails performing research in
Internet policy, including net neutrality and traffic management. The
project is funded by the National Science Foundation; the goal is to propose
an interdisciplinary approach to update the Internet architectural
principles to account for telecommunications policy and economics.

Candidates should have a research record in computer networks, in the
application of economics to information technology, or in communications
public policy. Candidates should be interested in interdisciplinary research
in computer science, economics, and public policy.

In the course of the research and under the direction of the principal
investigator, the postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for individual
and collaborative research and for further developing the research program.

The initial appointment will be for one year, with a possible extension to
two or three years dependent in part on progress.

The salary for this position will be between $35,500 and $59,772 annually,
commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus all standard benefits
for University of California employees.
