I am sorry but I fail to follow your reasoning here. If the IEEE is in
fact overpaying anyone, an executive, a supplier, anyone, it is to the
IEEE's advantage that it be stopped. Don't you agree? Or should it be
allowed to continue for ever?
So, the fact that this list is an IEEE resource is actually a good reason
to discuss it here. Obviously, we should not discuss it in an ACM/AEA/ASCE
etc list, as it has nothing to do with them.
On the other hand, if there is a written policy stating that discussing
possible overpayments at IEEE is inappropriate for this list, I would like
to look at it.
If you follow the reasoning of the NJ AG, they claim that they have taken
the Stevens actions because by stoping overpayments and mismanagement they
are helping to preserve the institute. Don't you agree with that
reasoning?
Finally, all of this secrecy and lack of transparency tends to foment the
perception -- perhaps inaccurate, hopefully inaccurate --- that something
is seriously wrong. If nothing is seriously wrong, there is nothing to be
affraid of. Certainly nothing from email discussions.
