2nd Workshop on Network Control and Optimization,
8-10 September 2008, Paris, France
http://lia.univ-avignon.fr/netcoop2008
Scope
Internet communications and services are increasingly heterogeneous and complex as applications usage and networking environments become more diverse. New models and protocols for the control and optimization of networks are highly needed to address the challenge of allocating communication resource efficiently and fairly, while coping with non-cooperative behavior.
This workshop aims at developing research on control and optimization of networks, ranging from performance evaluation and optimization of general stochastic networks to more specific targets such as lower-layer functionalities in mobile networks, routing for computational grids, game theoretic approaches to access control, cooperation, competition and adversary capacities in diverse environments.
The main themes for NET-COOP are (but not restricted to):
• Flow, routing and congestion control
• Optimisation and control theoretical tools in networking
• Game theoretic analysis of networks, incentive pricing, inducing collaboration
• Scheduling
• Control of queuing networks
• Analysis and optimisation of wireless networks
• Analysis and optimisation of peer-to-peer networks
• Analysis and optimisation of delay-tolerant-networks
• Computational grids
• Competitive routing
• …
Important Dates
Deadline for submissions: June 1, 2008
Notification of acceptance: July 20, 2008
Camera ready version: Sept 20, 2008
Workshop date: Sept 8-10, 2008
Papers and Submission
Papers should be written in English and include no more than 8 single-column pages
(LNCS format), each paper will be subject to a full review process. The submission process will be handled via EDAS. Submissions must be original work not under review at any other workshop, conference or journal. An award will be given to the best student paper.
The workshop proceedings are being considered for publication by Springer Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany, in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Series. In preparing their manuscript, authors are required to follow the LNCS guidelines (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html).
