I'd prefer email, and second your suggestion that people learn to use
threading in their mail clients.
I cannot fathom the outbursts claiming some link between the recent
TCCC list discussion and spam. Use threading. Delete/ignore threads. Auto-delete
on particular subject lines. Enjoy uninterrupted CFPs. (I'm not convinced
subsidiary mailing lists are really called for.)
